Event regulations
By registering, participants declare their agreement with the event regulations
- The organiser of the Greifenseelauf is Markus Ryffel’s GmbH.
- The distances are 17.9 km and 7 km respectively. A 1.2 km race will be held for the kids.
- The event will be run according to the categories listed in the official announcement.
- Course staff: The instructions of the course staff must be strictly obeyed. Private escort vehicles (including bicycles) are not permitted. Baby joggers are not permitted in any category. Shortcuts and unauthorised aids are not permitted. The Arbitration Committee of the Organising Committee will make the final decision on disqualifications.
- Medical service: A team of first aiders will be on duty in the finish area, which can be alerted in the event of an incident. In order that the emergency chief can be alerted quickly in case of need, each runner is requested to take a mobile phone with him/her, to pay attention to the course markings placed at regular intervals and to give first aid if necessary.
- Refreshments: On the 17.9km course there will be an aid station with water at about the halfway point of the race. There will be no refreshments on the 7km course.
- Preparation and sports medical examination: Athletes take part in the Greifenseelauf under their own responsibility and at their own risk. The organiser accepts no responsibility in the event of accidents or illness. The organiser recommends that all participants prepare thoroughly for this race and, if necessary, have their state of health checked by a doctor beforehand. Those who have had a feverish illness in the last week before the run are advised not to participate.
- Awards: Prizes in kind will be raffled among all participants. All participants over 7 and 17.9km will receive a running backpack at check-in.
- Insurance: Participants take part in the Greifenseelauf Uster at their own risk and responsibility. Insurance is the responsibility of the participant. The organiser declines any liability for accidents, damages and theft.

- Ranking list: All results are available here immediately after the race The definitive ranking list will be drawn up on 18 September 2021 after the last finish.
- Closing time: The closing time is at 20.00 hrs in the evening. Runners arriving later will not be ranked.
- Personal data: Participants agree that the organiser may process their personal data for marketing purposes and pass it on to third parties (e.g. sending brochures). Third parties are partners and sponsors. The organiser undertakes to process all personal data only in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Participants agree to the use of film and photo material for illustrating websites, ranking lists and other PR purposes (e.g. for flyers, articles in customer magazines) of the organiser and its sponsors and partners. Anyone who wishes to opt out of having their addresses passed on should please notify greifenseelauf@markusryffels.ch in writing no later than two weeks before the event. Participants can request the deletion of their data at any time and inform us of the revocation of their consent. A possible revocation has no influence on the data received before the revocation. If the revocation takes place before the event, the organiser may cancel the registration for the event.
- Personal running videos – Migros MyRun Clips: Migros creates a personal running video, so-called MyRun Clips, for the participants of the event. The running video is free of charge for the participants and will be published on the Migros iMpuls website, https://www.migros-impuls.ch. The participants will receive a prize after the event. After the event, participants will receive an e-mail with a link to their running video. For this purpose, the name, e-mail address, running data and footage of the participants will be processed. The running video may contain advertising elements, which may have been selected on the basis of the data submitted. Participants can object to the processing at any time; if they are not interested in a free running video, this can be stated when registering. The Federation of Migros Cooperatives (MGB) is responsible for this data processing. The data will be processed in accordance with the MGB’s data protection declaration, which can be found at https://www.migros.ch/de/datenschutz.html.
- Member of Swiss Athletics: With your registration you become a running member of Swiss Athletics and the umbrella organisation Swiss Olympic. We will pass on your name and e-mail address to Swiss Athletics. Your data will only be used for your entry as a member and will not be passed on to third parties. This membership is free of charge and expires (after one year) at the end of the following calendar year. Further information can be found on the Swiss-Running website. You can revoke your consent to the transfer of your data to Swiss Athletics at any time in writing (e.g. by e-mail to greifenseelauf@markusryffels.ch).
- Refund of entry fee: If a registered participant does not start due to illness, any claim for refund of the entry fee is void. In the online registration a comprehensive cancellation insurance can be taken out with the Europäische Reiseversicherung. (Refund of entry fee in case of illness against a doctor’s certificate, death in the family, train cancellation or car breakdown).
- Cancellation of the run: If the run cannot be held or only partially held due to force majeure (natural disasters, war, epidemics, pandemics, official directives or requirements, etc.), a voucher code for a Markus Ryffel’s event will be issued.
- Start time changes can be made free of charge via the link in the registration confirmation until the start numbers are printed. After the printing of the start number, a change made by Trackmaxx costs CHF 10.
- Fight against doping: The current doping statute of Swiss Olympic applies to this competition. By participating, athletes submit to the Swiss Olympic anti-doping rules and acknowledge the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swiss Olympic Disciplinary Commission for Doping Cases and the Tribunal Arbitral du Sport in Lausanne to the exclusion of the ordinary courts. - Provisions of the regulations: The organiser decides on the interpretation of the regulations.
- Protection concept: The requirements of the protection concept must be complied with. These are in particular the following points:
- Participation in the run is only possible with a valid certificate, in accordance with the requirements of the federal government.
- Distance and hygiene rules
- Runners and helpers with symptoms of illness are not allowed to take part in the event. Participation is also prohibited if there has been contact with a sick person.
